Gross vehicle weight rating limits for AFVs are 2,000 pounds greater than those for comparable conventional vehicles when operating on a highway that is not part of the interstate system.
Extra vouchers ranging from $12,000 to $30,000 are available for eligible vehicles used in the San Joaquin Valley Air Basin under the California Hybrid and Zero Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP).
Vehicles purchased new and titled for the first time between July 1, 2017, and July 1, 2020, are eligible for a credit up to $3,000, calculated as $100 per kWh of battery capacity.
The Hybrid Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP) provides vouchers from $2,500 to $117,000 to eligible fleets to reduce the incremental cost of qualified medium- and heavy-duty HEVs and ZEVs at the time of purchase.
